Privacy Policy

Effective 9 September 2026. Message Vault is made and sold by Hair Pro 360 LLC (“we”).

The app

Message Vault runs entirely on your Mac. It reads your Messages database and any archives you point it at, and writes a vault to a location you choose. We never see your messages, contacts, or attachments. The app does not send your data to us or to anyone else.

If you turn on the optional off-site backup, the app encrypts your vault on your Mac with AES-256-GCM before uploading it to the storage provider you configure. The encryption key is stored in your macOS Keychain and is never transmitted. Object names are also hashed so a bucket listing reveals nothing.

License keys are verified offline. The app does not contact our servers to check a license.

The app checks for updates by fetching an update feed from our website. That request includes the app version and standard HTTP request information; no personal data.

This website and purchases

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you buy, Stripe collects your email address and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address and a payment record. Your license key is generated from your email address and stored alongside the payment record in Stripe so it can be recovered if you lose it. We do not run a separate customer database.

We use your email address to deliver your license and to answer support requests. We do not sell it and we do not add it to marketing lists.

This website does not use advertising trackers. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and operations.

Your rights

Email us to ask what we hold about you or to have your purchase record removed from our systems. Removing the record also removes the ability to recover a lost license key.
